So, if you haven’t guessed already, I love fairytales and fairy tale retellings. I also love writing, so I have lots of ideas for potential projects, like a version of Cinderella from the Prince’s point of view and a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The full concept hasn’t really formed yet, but I want to do something with mirrors instead of an actual change from beast to man.
Thus, the poem. I wrote it a while ago because lines from it were repeating in my head over and over. I hope you guys enjoy it!
Happy Reading!

Pretty is as pretty does. These mirrors used to play their part. They showed the face and not the heart. Truly, a very simple art. Pretty is as pretty does. Now in these mirrors, You shall see Many terrors For such men be. Pretty is as pretty does. With love of evil, There comes a beast, Devouring others. What a feast! Pretty is as pretty does. A darkened heart, An evil art The mirrors shall not Play their part. Pretty is as pretty does A heart that's pure, That loves the light, They shall see A different sight. Pretty is as pretty does. Follow virtue And you may see A portrait Of eternity. Pretty is as pretty does. A work of art That's what I give. What you see Is how you live.
